Nici Aldridge
After graduating from University in 1986 with a degree in Computer Science, Nici worked in British Rail's Computing department, developing programs in COBOL and Adabas/Natural. After completing the two-year graduate training program, during which she developed a good understanding structured methods and database design, she widened her experience by spending a short period (1-2 years) at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Ltd and at NNC Ltd. (formerly National Nuclear Corporation).
In 1991, she joined Harcros Chemicals as part of a central team of information and business specialists, supporting the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system across the UK manufacturing sites. Her particular responsibilities included implementation of an export documentation system and management information system.
In 1994, following a merger of the speciality chemicals business from Harcros Chemicals and Akzo Chemicals, Nici transferred as a project manager to the new joint venture, Akcros Chemicals. During her three years in Akcros Chemicals she project managed several projects, the most significant being the development of a global Sales Information System (budget £200,000), and the selection and implementation of a global ERP system (budget £6,000,000).
In 1997 Nici moved on to become a senior consultant and team leader with Industri-Matematik International (IMI), a software house specialising in sales order management software for the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector. Her responsibilities included project management of client projects, leading the IMI team at client sites and delivering training courses and workshops to both IMI staff and clients.
In 1999, Nici became an active partner in A2Z Computer Services. Her portfolio includes Microsoft applications (Office, Outlook, Project) and project management, facilitation and problem solving. In her courses she draws from her many years' to provide real-world scenarios, problems and solutions. Her clients have included AlliedSignal, MBNA International, Warrington Housing Association, Akzo Nobel, AstraZeneca, Daresbury Laboratories, Royal & Sun Alliance and the In-Depth Group.
