Donna began her career as a Secretary/P.A. with Shell UK. After 5 years she decided to move into training and studied for a Faculty of Teachers in Commerce -Teacher's Diploma in Typewriting. After gaining this qualification she worked for 3 years as a part-time Lecturer at Halton Tertiary College teaching RSA and ULCI Typewriting courses. Whilst working at the College she was able to study PC products and decided that this was the path for her.
She left both Shell UK and Halton College in 1992 and went to work for Littlewoods Leisure as an IT Trainer where she wrote and delivered all the PC training for a staff of over 2000. In 1994 she began to study for an IT Trainers Certificate in Training and Development from the Institute of Training and Development followed, in 1996, by a BTEC in Computer Training (covering Managing Computer Training, One-to-One Training of Computer Users, Designing Training Courses, Conducting Training Courses). While at Littlewoods Leisure she also extended her portfolio into Personal Development training with courses in Telephone Techniques and Customer Care.
In 1995 Donna moved into another part of Littlewoods as a PC Lecturer in the IS Training Department for Littlewoods Retail where she was the Lead Lecturer for Microsoft Office. At this time she extended her Personal Development portfolio with Time Management, Report Writing Skills, Leadership and Assertiveness courses.
In 1997 she became Deputy Training Manager, where she supported the Training Manager, who is now her business partner in Clearer Thoughts Limited, a company they set up together in December 2000. Donna’s portfolio now includes Microsoft applications (Office, Outlook, FrontPage) and a wide range of Personal Development courses. |
