Gareth Proctor
Gareth has been involved in training and software development for many years, following a period as a secondary and adult teacher. In the time since leaving teaching, he has trained on all types of commercial and bespoke software. He has also been involved in the support and testing of bespoke software and commercial software that as been adapted to suit client's needs. In the latter role, he has acted in front line and second line support roles, and has trained front line support staff.
Gareth has also developed VBA skills in order to create runtime applications in Microsoft, Lotus and other software. Over the years, he has developed and used many project management skills and taken a number of project management roles.
His primary role now is in applications' training, at which he has always been successful. He is conversant to advanced levels with all the current MS Office range as well as their predecessors, and has a similar depth of knowledge in Lotus products.
Gareth has been involved with large and small companies in the training rollouts of standard desktops and office packages as well as bespoke systems. In many cases, he has managed the rollouts or written the user manuals that accompany them.
As the software market has changed, Gareth has kept abreast of it, and he therefore knows many packages popular in the past as well as the industry standards of today. The constant need to learn and refine his knowledge means he can usually pick up a new product or version in a very short time.
Gareth is as satisfied in teaching an introduction to Outlook to a new user as he is in coaching someone in VBA macros in Excel. He is able to get basic concepts across to technophobic beginners, as well as to explain technical matters to advanced users. These skills have been developed over many years in training all levels of delegates from young new starters, older non users, right up to high flying techies and captains of industry, commerce and government.
Gareth has worked with many companies, including Philips (Zelcom), Datel Computing, Holdene Computing, IBM, ICL, Akzo Nobel and AstraZeneca
