Joy has a wealth of experience as a training and development specialist. Her career in training commenced in 1980 when she joined Spicer’s Ltd, Europe’s leading supplier of office products as their Regional Training Officer. In this role she specialised in designing and delivering management and supervisory development initiatives, and competency based training courses, she became responsible for developing accredited training programmes to meet business and individual development needs of staff in all occupational areas. During 1995 Joy took responsibility for addressing the I.T. training needs of the organisations 2000 employees due to the implementation of a supply chain management system. This opportunity enabled her to develop a broad understanding of business issues relating to multi site implementations, and varied end user training needs. In 1997 Joy became an Education/Applications Consultant with Industri Matematik International, a software house specialising in supply chain management software for the FMCG sector. This role involved worldwide travel and therefore the need to adapt to a variety of cultures. In this role Joy designed and delivered business and training solutions for many clients including The Kellogg Company, Fisher Scientific, Andersen Consulting and Hotpoint. In 1999, Joy became an independent trainer and continues to use her knowledge and experience to improve business efficiency and promote learning. Her clients include Lever Brothers, AstraZeneca, Royal and Sun Alliance, Pilkington UK, DLJ, Strategix Software, The Institute of Management and Spicers Ltd. Joy is an accredited trainer with The Institute of Information Technology, a member of the Institute Of I.T. Training, ITOL and CIPD and a licensed trainer of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).
