Following several
years in administrative and secretarial roles, Melanie moved into training in 1996,
becoming a Microsoft Office instructor for the Greater Manchester Spastics Society, where
her responsibilities included training in MS Office, designing and producing training
manuals and resource materials and providing PC support to the administration team.
During 1999, Melanie spent several months with New Horizons as their Training and
Operations Manager, ensuring the smooth running and productivity of both the Training and
Operations departments. At New Horizons, Melanie was responsible for selecting and
recruiting new trainers, and for their initial two week training programme, which covered
Presentation Skills and Training Skills.
At the end of 1999, Melanie became a freelance trainer, specialising in Microsoft Office,
and offering group training, one-to-one coaching, workshops and seminars.
Melanie's strengths are in presenting courses in a very easy to understand manner,
teaching in layman's terms. She has a natural ability to communicate with people at all
levels and is an experienced presenter, confident with group of over 100 people, and with
managers up to board level. Her courses are informative, inspirational and, most of all,
entertaining. She has a bubbly and easy-going personality, and participants on her courses
find her very approachable.
Melanie's clients have included Microsolve Training, New Horizons, Greater Manchester
Spastics Society, MCS Corporation, Images Network Systems Ltd., Makro, Hyder, Manchester
