Richard Herman

Bean-Teacher.jpg (4223 bytes)

Richard is an independent provider of management training, with a focus on financial awareness. He also tutors on a range of finance related educational courses, working for universities and professional institutes. He has substantial experience in both finance and management development, having worked for National Westminster Bank, Bankers Trust Co, the Industrial Society and Coopers & Lybrand, and studied at the London Business School, before setting up his own business in 1990.

Since becoming independent, he has worked with over forty organisations, including British Energy, BNFL, WH Smith, Dun & Bradstreet, the Civil Service, PricewaterhouseCoopers, National Power and Northern Foods.

A common objective of Richard's training is to make people more financially aware, particularly in the context of their own organisations, the financial issues they face and the financial decisions they make. His courses are delivered in a highly interactive way. Although finance can be a dry topic,  Richard's experience is that people will learn if they are able to try things out. They are also more inclined to learn if the programme is tailored to their own needs.

His courses are, whenever possible, geared specifically to client needs and circumstances. This involves building course material and case studies around specific business situations, using financial language and reporting layouts that replicate those of the client. If possible, real financial data is used
