After graduating from
University in 1985 with a MSc in Information Studies, Stuart worked as
an application support technician for a leading library software company.
After two years of support, Stuart then established an end user training
program in the software before leaving to following his interest in PC
Training with CTEC, one of the leading national PC Training companies.
After passing their induction course he became an advanced Spreadsheet
and Database trainer and was involved in developing new courses in these
areas.
In 1989, Stuart joined J Walter Thompson as Head of PC Computing and assisted
the agency in producing presentations and supporting end users.
Later in 1989 Stuart joined Applied Training as a Senior Trainer where
he applied the support experience gained in earlier positions to training
Advanced Spreadsheet usage and Database Design. When Applied Training
merged with Specialist Computer Education in 1991, he was promoted to
Courseware Development Specialist where he applied the latest desktop
publishing techniques to the production of high-quality courseware. New
courses were always required and Stuart developed a very successful "Windows
for Support People" course that brought in new revenues from large
corporate clients.
In 1993, Stuart became a Freelance Trainer and applied his Windows knowledge
to becoming a Microsoft Certified Professional in Windows and later Excel.
His specialities include Database and Spreadsheet programming courses
and Web Publishing using a variety of tools.
With the growth of the Internet, Stuart developed and offered courses
in HTML and Microsoft FrontPage for users wanting to create Web sites.
Recent courses have included "Internet for Business" - an overview
of Internet Technologies concentrating on research and e-commerce. He
recently achieved "Developing and Deploying Web Sites using Microsoft
FrontPage 98" (70-055) as part of the MCSD (Microsoft Certified Solution
Developer) elective track.
His new course development has concentrated on using the new Office 2000
as a Web Publishing solution and developing training in Macromedia DreamWeaver
3.0.
