Stuart has been actively involved in Training and Consultancy for many years. He started his career in Freight Forwarding before moving into Consultancy-specialising in the analysis of costs and service factors, and the tendering/selection of freight service providers. This was followed by five years in Nigeria, managing Transport/Shipping and Warehousing operations and assisting with design and strategy of the large multi national business. On return to the UK, he moved into Third Party Distribution and held a commercial development board role. In 1990 he entered, formally, into the training business and was involved with the start up, of the training service to the then Institute of Logistics & Distribution. Stuart Emmett is now a freelance trainer & consultant, trading under the name "Learn & Change". He believes that in times of change, it is only those who learn- that will-successfully inherit the future! He has trained in many industries, to many nationalities and in many locations, including the UAE, Thailand, Hong Kong and Nigeria. Besides undertaking training, Stuart also, writes and designs learning material/ processes, acts as a coach and mentor to individuals/groups, and also as a catalyst/ consultant to effect change to existing methods by effecting improvements and introducing "new" ways. He holds an MSc from CTS Cranfield and a BA (Hons) from the Open University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Logistics, The Chartered Institute of Transport, The Institute of Freight Forwarders, a Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development, the Institute of Export, the Institute of Transport Administration, and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply. He is also qualified as a Further Education Teacher, an NVQ Assessor/Verifier, and (pending) in Mentoring |
